Gurdwara Monthly Updates Webinar Information
formerly National Advisory Group on the Reopening of Gurdwaras (“NAGRG”)

On 15th May 2020, the Government announced a new Places of Worship Taskforce to develop a plan to enable the phased and safe reopening of places of worship no earlier than 4th July 2020. This is part of the Government’s ambition to reopen places of worship in a stepped plan to lift restrictions subject to scientific advice. The task force will see what forms of worship, such as individual prayer, might be allowed.
Gurdwara Aid had taken the initiative to work with the Sikh Representative on the Taskforce to create an independent structure and process to facilitate a broad representation of Gurdwaras to provide their feedback to the Taskforce by setting up the National Advisory Board for the Reopening of Gurdwaras (“NAGRG”).
This work has continued throughout the pandemic. With the desire to maintain openness and transparency to the Sikh Community, all papers, meeting minutes, press releases and other relevant documents can be accessed here.
UPDATE: as Gurdwaras have reopened, NAGRG has now closed in line with its terms of reference.
Instead, Gurdwara Aid will continue a monthly Gurdwara Updates webinar to provide resources and information to UK Gurdwaras.
